Introduction

OnHour – UNited Watchtogether on the following conferences/negotiations

The topic of sustainable development is the content bracket: in the three dimensions of ecology, social affairs and economy, the global community has committed itself to 17 Sustainable Development Goals for a better life for all. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are aimed at enabling a decent life worldwide while at the same time preserving the natural basis of life in the long term. The joint responsibility of all from politics, business, science and civil society is emphasised.

The negotiations on climate, nature and oceans focus on the ecological dimension. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, also known as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the scientists of the Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, also known as the World Biodiversity Council, urgently point out that the climate system and nature have reached their limits.

On behalf of the UN Human Rights Council, states are negotiating an agreement that will require companies to respect human rights in their business activities. The agreement will include both social and environmental standards.
